Following her christening in Esbjerg, MV Frida has officially joined the SAL fleet as the second vessel of the Orca Class.
Celebrated together with Siemens Gamesa, the ceremony reflects a strong and trusted partnership already taking shape at sea.
From the beginning, MV Frida has been operating in line with her purpose – supporting the energy transition by transporting components for offshore renewable energy projects in the Southern North Sea.
As part of the Orca Class, the vessel represents a new generation of heavy lift ships designed for performance, flexibility and precision, while also contributing to more sustainable operations.
The christening ceremony also carried a personal significance. Frida Mortensen, daughter of Thomas Mortensen, Head of Shipping, Offshore Wind at Siemens Wind Power A/S, officially named the vessel – symbolising peace, tranquillity and security, values that accompany every voyage at sea.
As the Orca fleet continues to grow, MV Frida marks another important step in shaping the future of heavy lift shipping.
