The people who move what matters.

From bridge to back office, our crews, port captains and specialists turn complex plans into safe, on-time performance.

At SAL, people are our power.

Skilled at sea and ashore, our teams plan, engineer and execute every step of a project with precision, judgement and care. It’s how we keep cargo on plan, stakeholders aligned and standards high – voyage after voyage.

One team. Many experts.

Every successful voyage is a team effort.

From first enquiry to final delivery, our commercial teams, operators and project managers set the scope and keep routes, documents and stakeholders aligned; our engineers turn ambition into ability with lift plans, stowage and sea-fastening; our port captains connect plan to quay through briefings, permits and safe sequencing; and our crews deliver heavy lift capability on board. Together, they turn complex plans into safe, on-time results.

One team, one standard – skilled, adaptive and leading. That’s how we move what matters, voyage after voyage.

Turning plans into performance

Ashore, our operators, project managers and commercial specialists orchestrate the end-to-end picture – from routing and engineering inputs to documentation, compliance and communication.

Through scenario planning and risk controls they keep schedules assured and budgets on track; by maintaining seamless documentation and QHSE compliance they simplify approvals and handovers; and with transparent, timely updates they keep customers and partners aligned from first enquiry to final delivery.

Engineering that makes plans work

Our engineers combine advanced modelling with practical know-how to design safe, efficient solutions – from lift plans and sea-fastening to route studies and port layouts.

Working hand in hand with port captains and vessel crews, they translate complex requirements into executable plans, optimising lifts, stowage and sea-fastening, aligning feasibility, route and port studies with QHSE, and iterating designs quickly to keep schedules on plan. The result is lower risk, fewer changes on the quay and a smoother path from enquiry to delivery.

Where plans meet the quay

Port captains turn the project plan into safe, efficient port calls. They coordinate cargo readiness, lifting plans and terminal interfaces; lead toolbox talks; verify permits, equipment and manning; and keep operations aligned with schedule, weather and local constraints.

On site, they align vessels, terminals and contractors on safe lifting and sequencing, run risk assessments and briefings, and exercise stop-work authority when required. Throughout, they keep customers informed with clear, timely operational updates – so the plan at the desk becomes controlled execution at the quay.

Experience that delivers at sea

Our crews combine deep heavy lift experience with a safety-first mindset. Masters and officers bring extensive project backgrounds – many have sailed with SAL for years, some across generations – while continuous training and career development keep skills sharp on every voyage.

Working hand in hand between our crewing hubs in Hamburg/Bremen and Manila, we ensure capability, continuity and strong support ashore so each vessel is ready for the task.
